Meet the Captivating Characters of My Upcoming Novel: Pirates and Witches and Other Obsessions

Mycroft Westlock is our narrator. He grew up in Pollyhollow, a quaint Earth-based town, raised by his guardians, the Habborlains. Though Pollyhollow is the only home he’s ever known, stories of his parents have always lingered in his heart. Mycroft’s relationship with his parents is pretty strained, so anyone who's dealt with family drama or loss will totally get his struggle. He's driven by this almost blind faith that he can piece everything back together. This quest is what propels him through the story, leading us on his wild, explosive, and sometimes downright crazy adventure as he grapples with his future and tries to rewrite the past.

Then there’s Celestine, Mycroft’s younger sister. She’s a bit more balanced but fiercely loyal to her brother. Growing up on the same stories about their parents, she’s always been Mycroft’s rock. Wherever he goes, she follows, always ready to have his back when things get tough. Together, they’re an unstoppable team, with Celestine often being the one who keeps Mycroft grounded.
